Her father was a poet too, and died when Udaya was only 4. Udaya Bhanu was born in Sultanabad of Andhra Pradesh. Aliya Alla Magala Ganda is her single Kannada movie released in 1997. She has also done special appearance in item songs in a few movies like Aapada Mokkula Vadu, Julayi and Leader.
She has also acted in Telugu movies like Erra Sainyam, Vetagadu, Khaidi Brothers, Police no 1, Kondaveeti Simhasanam, BasthiMeySawaal and Shravana Maasam. Thus she is a busy personality of Telugu television industry at present. Now she is the highest paid personality of Telugu television industry and currently hosts six shows on six channels. She started her career as an anchor in Telugu television at the age of 15 and very soon became one of the most successful anchors of Telugu television.
